Responsible for the oversight and assistance of data entry for clients, and providing program support to NRCA program staff. Provides Program Directors reports meeting specific criteria. Completes file reviews for quality control.
Requires: A.A.S. in Administrative Support or related field OR High School Diploma or equivalent education plus two years’ office services experience required.
Starting Pay: $10.98– $13.51/hr plus benefits. Starting wage depends upon education and related experience.

Children’s Health Improvement Partnership (CHIP) of New River Valley

Location: New River Valley
Full-time position, Monday through Friday daytime hours (no holidays or on-call)
Duties include case management services; health-focused home visits to pregnant women and families with children birth to 6 years enrolled in CHIP. Completes health assessments, case management of chronic illnesses & pregnant women, promotion of well-child care, and performance of developmental and health screenings. Ability to work effectively with clients of multi-cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Requirements: Current VA nursing license with pediatric experience. Community health experience preferred. Valid driver’s license/good driving record.
Starting salary range:  $35,439-$42,317 (depending upon qualifications), plus benefits.

Responsible for housing counseling for low-income people in NRV who are or may become homeless and support services to find and maintain permanent housing.
Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a related field or another degree with an equivalent number of credits in the human services field plus one year of related experience OR An Associate’s Degree in Human Services or a related field or another degree with an equivalent number of credits in the human services field plus four years related experience.  Housing Counselor certification is required, and training will be provided.
Full-time, 40 hours per week, starting wage: $13.88 – $16.57/hr (depending upon qualifications) plus benefits.  Additional compensation for being Bilingual (Spanish/English).

New River Community Action Head Start is currently accepting applications for substitute positions throughout the New River Valley.
Responsible for assisting classroom staff in carrying out daily curriculum, supervision of children, meal preparation and pickup, cleaning duties, etc.
Requires a minimum of High School diploma or GED.  TB test, employment physical, criminal record checks (including fingerprints), and a Child Abuse and Neglect background check are required.
These positions are an on-call, as needed basis with no guarantee of hours.
