HOUSING AND HOMELESS PROGRAMS
The mission of Homeless and Housing Programs (HHP) is to prevent and alleviate homelessness by providing temporary rental assistance, case management, and housing counseling to individuals and families experiencing a financial crisis that allows them to obtain or maintain permanent housing.
Financial Assistance is available to those households who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness. Financial Assistance can pay for deposits, rent and utilities. It is time-limited, and Certified Housing Counselors provide a housing counseling component to facilitate the goal of long-term financial independence for the program participants.
Service Area: Homeless and Housing Programs serve the counties of Floyd, Giles, Pulaski and Montgomery and the City of Radford, Virginia.
Eligibility Requirements: For Financial Assistance households must be homeless or at-risk of homelessness per grant guidelines. There are also income and rent requirements that vary by locality. Housing Counseling and Group Education is available to anyone in the community regardless of income.
How to access services: Visit any local Emergency Assistance office to be screened for services.
Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday 8:30 to 5:00
